We’re seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to manage and execute control system design, programming, and implementation for a variety of automation projects. Based in the Orlando, FL area, this role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies across diverse industries, all within a collaborative, employee-owned environment.
Position Details:
- Title: Controls Engineer
- Location: Orlando, FL
- Salary: $90,000–$105,000 (DOE)
- Status: Full-Time | Onsite | Local Travel (~35%)
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 5+ years of experience with Ethernet-based control systems, instrumentation, safety systems, and logic programming
- Strong experience in PLC/DCS system design (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, DeltaV, Experion)
- Proficient in AutoCAD for schematic and panel layout design
- Excellent communicator, highly organized, and comfortable leading small project teams
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check and drug screen
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement DCS/PLC control systems to meet process specifications
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and drafters in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and industry standards
- Create detailed schematics, layouts, and design documentation using AutoCAD
- Optimize panel location and system architecture for safety, efficiency, and reliability
- Conduct system calculations, risk analysis, and hazard mitigation
- Guide team members and act as a technical lead on automation projects
- Assist with system start-up, testing, debugging, and client documentation
- Manage smaller projects from planning and procurement through execution
- Track and report project progress, manage change orders, and control costs
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $90,000–$105,000 (DOE)
