Sr. Controls Engineer – Greater Boston, MA

We’re seeking a highly experienced Sr. Controls Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team focused on delivering high-performance automation systems across a wide range of industries. This role involves direct collaboration with clients, leadership of project teams, and hands-on development of advanced control system architectures.
Position Details:
- Title: Sr. Controls Engineer
- Location: Boston, MA
- Salary: $90,000–$125,000 (DOE)
- Status: Full-Time | Onsite | Local Travel (~25%)
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
- Proficient in PLC, HMI/SCADA, and DCS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, DeltaV, Ignition, GE iFIX, FactoryTalk View)
- Familiar with electrical schematics, AutoCAD, and managing control system teams
- Experience with cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, and automation standards for Life Sciences
- Knowledge of S88 Batch, HART, Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP, and SQL/Oracle databases
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass background check/drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement control systems to meet project and client requirements
- Develop control logic software and HMI applications
- Create schematics and equipment panel layouts using AutoCAD
- Lead system start-up, debugging, testing, and commissioning efforts
- Provide troubleshooting support using multimeter and diagnostic tools
- Ensure adherence to scope, quality, budget, and schedule parameters
- Train customer personnel on system operation and maintenance
- Provide post-installation technical service and system support
- Foster strong partnerships with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders
- Participate in client meetings and industry trade shows as a technical resource
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $90,000–$125,000 (DOE)
