Project Engineer / Controls Estimator – Minneapolis, MN – $80,000–$100,000 + Fully Paid Healthcare

About the Opportunity:

A growing mechanical and controls contractor based in Minneapolis is hiring a Project Engineer / Controls Estimator to support a growing controls division. This role is best suited for someone with a background in engineering or controls programming who’s eager to learn or expand their skills in estimation. Tridium experience is a strong plus.

Position Details:

• Title: Project Engineer / Controls Estimator
• Location: Minneapolis, MN
• Status: Full-Time
• Remote: No – Office and local field site work only

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience as a Project Engineer, Controls Designer, or related position
• Comfortable creating HVAC/Controls drawings using MS Visio or similar tools
• Experience reviewing controls/mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding or interest in Tridium-based systems
• Willingness to learn or expand skills in cost estimation and bidding
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Design control layouts and create submittal drawings
• Review blueprints and specs for HVAC/Controls projects
• Assist in preparing cost, material, and labor estimates
• Perform site visits and job walks to support estimation and design
• Track and update cost databases and vendor pricing
• Submit proposals and budgets on time

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $80,000–$100,000 (some flexibility)
