About the Opportunity:
A respected mechanical and building automation contractor in the St. Louis metro area is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support and grow its controls division. This is a dynamic role focused on the design, development, and technical oversight of building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong BAS design experience and familiarity with Tridium platforms, and will work closely with internal teams to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions.
Position Details:

- Status: Full-Time | Office & Client Site Visits
Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience as a Controls Engineer, Applications Engineer, or similar position
- Skilled in designing BAS architecture using MS Visio or AutoCAD
- Experience developing Sequences of Operations and submittals
- Hands-on familiarity with programming Tridium front ends
- Ability to prepare network schematics, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
- Understands cost-effective material selection for installation teams
- Collaborates effectively with programmers, PMs, and sales teams
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and BAS operations
- Capable of performing job walks and client site surveys
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage BAS systems and system-level architecture
- Create design documents including BOMs, wiring diagrams, and network schematics
- Lead preparation of submittals and review installation documentation
- Work directly with sales teams to ensure design approval and project alignment
- Support controls programmers and field staff to deliver high-quality installations
- Ensure timely delivery of design work in a collaborative environment
Compensation & Benefits:
