About the Opportunity:

A well-established building automation contractor is seeking a Controls Technician to join their team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This is a field-based role with 80% of work local to DFW and 20% involving occasional overnight travel. Mid- to senior-level professionals are encouraged to apply, especially those with commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting experience in BAS environments.

Position Details:

• Title: Controls Technician
• Location: Richardson, TX (Dallas-Fort Worth area)
• Status: Full-Time | Field-Based
• Travel: 80% DFW | 20% Regional (Overnight)

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, commission, and test building automation systems (BAS)
• Perform point-to-point checkouts and ensure commissioning protocols are followed
• Troubleshoot and modify installed BAS programs
• Support the start-up and termination of equipment and control systems
• Reprogram and revise control sequences as needed
• Communicate effectively with end users, general contractors, and internal teams
• Work closely with field installers and project teams to ensure successful deployments

Ideal Candidate:

• 3+ years of experience as a Controls Technician or in a similar BAS-focused role
• Strong knowledge of control sequences and BAS architecture
• Hands-on experience with ALC or similar platforms (Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, JCI, Vykon)
• Solid diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot in the field
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to work independently
