About the Opportunity:
A well-established building automation contractor is seeking a Controls Technician to join their team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This is a field-based role with 80% of work local to DFW and 20% involving occasional overnight travel. Mid- to senior-level professionals are encouraged to apply, especially those with commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting experience in BAS environments.
Position Details:
- Title: Controls Technician
- Location: Richardson, TX (Dallas-Fort Worth area)
- Status: Full-Time | Field-Based
- Travel: 80% DFW | 20% Regional (Overnight)
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and test building automation systems (BAS)
- Perform point-to-point checkouts and ensure commissioning protocols are followed
- Troubleshoot and modify installed BAS programs
- Support the start-up and termination of equipment and control systems
- Reprogram and revise control sequences as needed
- Communicate effectively with end users, general contractors, and internal teams
- Work closely with field installers and project teams to ensure successful deployments
Ideal Candidate:
- 3+ years of experience as a Controls Technician or in a similar BAS-focused role
- Strong knowledge of control sequences and BAS architecture
- Hands-on experience with ALC or similar platforms (Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, JCI, Vykon)
- Solid diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot in the field
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work independently
