A well-established and growing building automation contractor is seeking a highly skilled EMS Controls Engineer III in the Dallas area. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer experienced in programming and designing complex Waterside equipment with minimal oversight. Position Details:
- Title: EMS Controls Engineer III
- Location: Dallas, TX
- Status: Full-Time | Hybrid Field + Office
- Salary: $95,000–$110,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex project engineering efforts from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Program and design advanced mechanical and waterside control systems
- Participate in project walks, client meetings, and submittal preparations
- Create Sequence of Operations and build custom BAS graphics
- Perform logic simulations and QA/QC reviews before transmitting to field teams
- Support troubleshooting and commissioning tasks alongside EMS Technicians
- Assist and mentor Level I and Level II engineers
- Coordinate with subcontractors and manage deliverables to align with budget and schedule
- Utilize protocols including BACnet, ModBus, and Tridium-based systems
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Controls Engineer or BAS Specialist
- Hands-on knowledge of Automated Logic (ALC) systems (required)
- Comfortable working with Tridium/Niagara, Schneider, JCI, or Siemens controls
- Ability to interpret drawings, equipment submittals, and project specs
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and energy-efficient design
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
