Hardware Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a high-impact engineering team developing connected devices and sensors
for smart buildings and energy management applications. This role will oversee a multidisciplinary team and shape the next generation
of intelligent, connected building systems.
Position Details
- Title: Hardware Engineering Manager
- Location: Dallas, TX (Plano)
- Salary: Up to $180,000
- Bonus: Yes
- Travel: Limited (~10%)
- Employment: Full time, on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary hardware team including firmware, electrical, mechanical, industrial design, QA, and test engineers.
- Oversee end-to-end hardware development from concept and prototyping through manufacturing and field deployment.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage resources across multiple concurrent development initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with software/cloud teams, product management, and manufacturing partners to align strategy and delivery.
- Direct field reliability testing and validation efforts to ensure robust real-world performance.
- Establish and enforce best practices for QA, testing, failure analysis, and product validation throughout the hardware lifecycle.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Hardware Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role.
- Deep expertise in IoT systems, with a focus on controls, automation, and embedded hardware.
- Strong background in embedded systems, BLE, LoRa, mesh networking, power electronics, and control circuits.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering products at scale.
- Hands-on, strategic leader comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
