Building Management System (BMS) Technician
Location: Fresno, CA (Commercial & Institutional Facilities)
Compensation: $40–$80/hr (Union Scale, DOE)

About the Role
Join a well-established building automation team serving Northern California for over 50 years. As a BMS Technician, you'll install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems that manage HVAC, lighting, and energy usage. This position is ideal for a skilled controls technician seeking long-term stability, union benefits, and a company vehicle while working as an independent contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned service work orders with accurate documentation
- Act as the on-site technical lead during field service visits
- Interpret control schematics, electrical diagrams, and sequences of operation
- Troubleshoot and repair BMS/DDC systems, field devices, and communication networks
- Program, configure, and commission building automation controls
- Recalibrate, replace, and repair automation hardware as needed
- Ensure high-quality service and support across customer sites
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of hands-on BAS/BMS experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with Alerton, Distech, Schneider, Siemens systems (preferred)
- Strong computer skills and technical aptitude
- Effective communicator and organized field service professional
