The Quality & Commissioning Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing the end-to-end commissioning process for DC BLOX’s data centers. This includes planning, coordinating, and validating all systems—from mechanical and electrical infrastructure to automation and controls—to ensure they meet operational readiness, performance specifications, and compliance with design intent. The ideal candidate has a deep technical background in mission-critical facilities and is experienced in managing multidisciplinary teams through complex commissioning procedures.
Essential Duties:
Commissioning Management
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive commissioning plans for new builds, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Lead all phases of the commissioning process: pre-functional testing, integrated systems testing, performance validation, and final acceptance.
- Ensure that commissioning activities are executed in alignment with project timelines, specifications, and quality standards.
Technical Oversight
- Review design documents, equipment submittals, and system-level performance data to ensure alignment with Basis of Design (BOD) and Owner Project Requirements (OPR).
- Coordinate with MEP/FP consultants, controls engineers, and OEMs to validate integration across all critical systems, including power, cooling, automation, life safety, and SCADA/BMS.
- Participate in Factory Witness Testing (FWT), integrated systems testing (IST), and all turnover milestones.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with internal teams (Design, Construction, Operations, and Facilities) and external partners (Commissioning Agents, contractors, vendors) to drive timely and successful project delivery.
- Serve as the commissioning authority on site during testing, troubleshooting, and handover phases.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and well-documented turnover packages including test scripts, reports, deficiency logs, redlines, and lessons learned.
Policy, Safety & Documentation
- Establish and enforce commissioning standards, procedures, and documentation practices across all data center projects.
- Maintain compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, IBC, and local authority requirements.
- Prioritize safety, quality, and performance in all commissioning efforts.
- Manage issue escalation and resolution processes related to testing failures or systems integration conflicts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Training/Experience:
- 7–10 years of experience in data center or mission-critical commissioning, with strong MEP and control systems knowledge.
- Proven ability to manage commissioning across all facility systems: electrical (MV/LV), mechanical, fire protection, controls/automation, and monitoring systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and commissioning tools (CxAlloy, Facility Grid, etc.).
- Strong understanding of integrated commissioning methodologies and construction lifecycles.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Southeastern U.S. markets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE), Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), or ASHRAE BCxP certification.
- Experience in managing commissioning agents or acting as Commissioning Authority (CxA).
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (LEED, ENERGY STAR, etc.).
