About the RoleAs an
Automation Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency across business operations. The role focuses on connecting systems, automating manual workflows, and building scalable automation solutions using scripting, APIs, and automation platforms.
You will work closely with engineering and business teams to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions that streamline processes across departments. This role sits within a collaborative engineering team of around six engineers and will contribute to building automation capabilities across the organisation.The position is expected to operate at a mid-level, with opportunities to work on a range of automation initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation workflows using a combination of front-end automation, scripted automation, and API integrations
- Develop automation solutions using Python and modern automation tools
- Connect disparate systems across the business to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency
- Design integrations between platforms using APIs and workflow orchestration tools
- Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutions
- Maintain and improve existing automation solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance
- Contribute to documentation and best practices for automation across the engineering team
- Support initiatives such as finance automation projects, connecting different finance systems to automate manual workflows
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python for scripting, automation, and integrations
- Experience building and maintaining automation workflows across business systems
- Familiarity with API integrations and system-to-system communication
- Experience working with automation platforms such as Copilot Studio or similar tools
- Understanding of automation design patterns and workflow optimisation
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and a reliable execution mindset when delivering automation solutions
Nice to Have
- Experience with Copilot Studio or other AI-assisted automation platforms
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Blue Prism or similar RPA solutions
- Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as n8n
- Exposure to building automation solutions that connect finance or operational systems
- Interest in expanding automation capabilities using AI-driven automation or low-code platforms
