Senior Retro-Commissioning (RCx) / Energy Auditor – Building Energy Engineer
Position Type: Part-Time (1099 Independent Contractor)
Location: Remote (Travel Required to Colorado)
Time Commitment: Approximately 10+ hours per week
Travel: Two-day site visit in Colorado approximately 2 times per year

The role is centered around three primary responsibilities:
1. Perform On-Site Energy Audits & Building Assessments
2. Prepare Technical Energy Audit Reports
3. Support Clients Through Implementation
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of experience performing commercial energy audits, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
Extensive experience with large commercial buildings (100,000+ SF).
Strong knowledge of:
HVAC systems
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Direct Digital Controls (DDC)
Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
Experience developing engineering calculations and energy savings analyses.
Exceptional technical writing skills.
Strong communication and client presentation skills.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field (required).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
Highly organized and able to work independently.
Compensation & Logistics
Pay: $125-$175 per hour (DOE)
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Remote Work: Approximately 90%
Travel: Approximately 10% (primarily Colorado)
Colorado-based candidates preferred but not required.
