Estimator (BAS Controls) – $90K to $145K+ – Santa Barbara or Pismo Beach, CA

About the Opportunity:

A nationally recognized Tier-1 HVAC and Building Automation contractor is seeking a BAS Controls Estimator to support their operations in either Santa Barbara or Pismo Beach, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid- or senior-level candidate with experience estimating building automation and controls systems for high-profile projects.

Position:

• Title: Estimator (Building Automation / HVAC Controls)
• Level: Mid or Senior, depending on experience

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $90,000 – $145,000+ DOE

Responsibilities:

• Create accurate cost estimates for DDC control systems and integration projects
• Develop network architecture, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD or MS Visio
• Write and revise Sequences of Operation (SOPs) for HVAC control systems
• Design distributed network architecture and floor plan control graphics
• Review submittals, redline documentation, and track RFIs
• Coordinate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Interpret project specifications and ensure compliance with controls standards
• Integrate systems using BACnet, Modbus, or other protocols

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Background in estimating or designing building automation systems (BAS/DDC)
• Proficient in AutoCAD or MS Visio
• Strong understanding of controls protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
• Experience with commercial, institutional, or large-scale facilities is preferred
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
