Position Details
- Title: Sr. Controls Engineer / Programmer
- Location: Baltimore, MD (Greater DMV Area)
- Compensation: $45.00 – $65.00/hr (Depending on Experience)
- Bonus: End-of-year performance-based bonus
- Schedule: Full-time (occasional nights or weekends as needed)
- Work Model: Hybrid (occasional remote flexibility based on project)
- Travel: Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and program Building Automation Systems (BAS) from concept through commissioning
- Program custom control applications using Delta, Tridium Niagara, or Schneider Electric platforms
- Integrate and configure controls with third-party BAS and HVAC systems
- Develop and modify control logic, graphics, and system parameters
- Interpret mechanical drawings, control schematics, and sequences of operation
- Provide testing and validation for I/O points to ensure system accuracy and calibration
- Support commissioning and troubleshooting for complex automation systems
- Install and configure site workstations, servers, and networked controllers
- Provide end-user training, documentation, and technical support post-installation
- Mentor and guide BAS Technicians in programming and project execution
- Collaborate with service, engineering, and sales teams to support new projects and upgrades
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer, BAS Programmer, or Systems Integrator
- Proficiency in Tridium Niagara 4 (N4) and Delta Controls preferred
- Strong understanding of control logic, sequences of operation, and system networking
- Ability to lead commissioning and provide remote or onsite troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills for technician development
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Must be eligible to pass federal government security clearance
