A rapidly growing commercial and industrial HVAC & Building Automation solutions provider is seeking an experienced
Controls Design Engineer to join their expanding BAS engineering team in the Toledo, OH area.
This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting building automation projects across a wide range of industries including
commercial, K-12, universities, municipal, healthcare, and industrial facilities.

- Salary: $85,000 – $115,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Create, design, and manage BAS system layouts and architectures using MS Visio (transitioning to Studio360)
- Develop detailed Sequences of Operations for assigned projects
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, project specifications, and engineering documentation
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve BAS and energy management software issues
- Visit client sites to perform walk-throughs, gather design information, and validate project scope
- Lead the development of detailed automation datasets and prepare documentation for submittals
- Ensure controls designs are accurate, efficient, and delivered on schedule
- Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and engineering teams to support project execution
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience as a BAS Controls Design Engineer or similar engineering/design role
- Strong proficiency with MS Visio; experience with AutoCAD or Studio360 is a plus
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems and building automation design principles
- Ability to analyze project requirements and translate them into accurate system designs
- Strong troubleshooting skills for BAS and energy management systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
