A nationally recognized Building Systems Integration and Mechanical Solutions company is seeking an experienced Sr. Controls Programmer in the Greater Dulles, VA area. This position focuses on programming, integration, and commissioning of complex building automation systems across commercial, data center, and healthcare facilities.

• Salary: $90,000 – $126,000 (Based on Experience)

• Travel: Limited – local DMV region

Key Responsibilities

• Program and configure Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC) including custom logic and sequences
• Develop and modify software applications for both new and existing systems
• Lead and prepare detailed automation designs, control submittals, and documentation packages
• Integrate and program third-party controls and automation systems
• Configure CPUs, databases, graphics, networks, and integrations for building systems
• Interpret and apply mechanical drawings, control schematics, and sequence of operations
• Develop and customize front-end graphics for system interfaces
• Perform functional testing, I/O verification, and calibration to ensure system performance
• Install and troubleshoot workstations, servers, and network infrastructure for BAS environments
• Provide on-site and remote support for field technicians and client systems
• Deliver user training and technical documentation to end clients

Ideal Candidate

• Experience as a Sr. Controls Programmer or equivalent role in BAS/Building Automation
• Strong knowledge of control logic, HVAC systems, and automation networking
• Experience with JCI, Honeywell, Trane, or similar BAS platforms
• Skilled in configuring BAS controllers, databases, and graphical user interfaces
• Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks communication protocols
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on mentorship
