BAS Controls Project Manager (Data Center Projects)

Location: Chicagoland – DuPage County, IL (Hybrid / Remote-Flex)

Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 total compensation (Base: $100,000 – $140,000 + 15%+ bonus)

Position Overview

The BAS Controls Project Manager will oversee multiple building automation projects concurrently, with a strong focus on data center and mission-critical environments. This role owns the full project lifecycle from sales turnover through closeout, ensuring technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple BAS and data center controls projects simultaneously
• Lead Sales-to-Operations turnover with internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and maintain detailed MS Project schedules, milestones, and critical paths
• Run project meetings and track action items, timelines, and deliverables
• Coordinate submittals, drawings, materials, and jobsite activities
• Own RFIs, change orders, and monthly cost forecasting
• Manage AIA billing, turnover documentation, as-builts, and O&M closeout
• Apply strong BAS/HVAC controls knowledge including hydronics and serial/IP networks
• EPMS experience considered a plus
• Utilize AutoCAD and/or Visio for project coordination and documentation
• Maintain clear communication, strong organization, and effective time management

Ideal Candidate

• Experience managing BAS / controls projects in commercial or mission-critical environments
• Data center project experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of building automation systems and HVAC controls
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and project documentation
• Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and interfacing with enterprise clients
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Total compensation range: $120,000 – $160,000+
• Base salary range: $100,000 – $140,000
• Annual bonus target of 15% or more
