Headline: Controls Design Engineer - Building Automation (Entry to Mid-Level)
Location: Chicago / Indianapolis area (Office-based)
The Opportunity: Are you the type of engineer who loves putting together the "game plan" that lays the foundation for success? We are looking for an Automation Design Engineer to engineer turnkey DDC systems for HVAC, Lighting, and Surveillance. We value innovation and are actively looking for someone who wants to leverage AI and advanced design software to streamline the engineering process.
Key Responsibilities:
Create engineered documentation, wiring diagrams, and flowcharts for commercial projects.
Select and compile materials (I/O Controllers, Valves, Actuators, Sensors).
Liaise between the sales team and field technicians to ensure project scope is accurate.
Remain up-to-date on the latest controllers and hardware in the smart building space.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience using AutoCAD, Visio, or similar design programs.
A strong grasp of mechanical and electrical systems within commercial buildings.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or Computer Science is preferred.
A "detail-obsessed" mindset—you are the one who ensures the field team has a flawless blueprint.
