The Mitigation Technician is a hands-on role responsible for executing emergency response and damage mitigation services after water, fire, mold, or storm events. This role requires physical work, attention to detail, and a service-minded approach while working closely with team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency calls, including nights and weekends, as part of an on-call rotation.
- Work Execution: Perform skilled hands-on labor including demolition, water extraction, sewage and fire mitigation, mold remediation, and jobsite cleanup.
- Equipment & Site Setup: Set up, monitor, and maintain mitigation equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, extraction pumps, and air scrubbers.
- Documentation: Conduct moisture readings; document work performed through photos, field notes, and time tracking systems; complete job paperwork accurately for insurance and internal records.
- Jobsite Safety: Follow and enforce safety protocols, ensure proper PPE usage, and monitor jobsite conditions for compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Customer Service: Provide respectful, compassionate service to clients experiencing stressful events, communicating clearly about progress and next steps.
- Coordination & Workflow: Interpret work orders, job scopes, and construction documents to execute tasks efficiently. Coordinate daily workflow, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely completion to company standards.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with Mitigation Leads, Project Directors, and clients regarding project progress, field conditions, and unforeseen issues.
- Leadership & Training: Supervise and lead laborers or apprentices on site, supporting their training and development.
- Quality Control: Identify and report unforeseen conditions, scope changes, or quality concerns to supervisors. Support crew leads and project managers with project setup, updates, and completion.
- Maintenance: Maintain equipment, tools, and materials in good working condition, ensuring readiness for future jobs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications (IICRC WRT, FSRT, AMRT) preferred.
- Prior construction, restoration, or related labor experience is helpful but not required
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• This role operates in a field environment.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Regular travel between job sites.

- Pay Range: $20 - $26 / hour
