Title: Traveling Building Automation (BAS) Controls Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Regional/National Travel)

Position Overview
We are representing a premier Midwest-based Building Automation and Controls firm that is expanding its national footprint. We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician based in the Indianapolis area to support large-scale new construction and retrofit projects across the continental U.S. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys variety, travel, and working on high-profile projects like distribution centers, high-rise residential towers, and major retail builds.
Key Responsibilities
National Project Support: Travel up to 80% within the continental U.S. to perform startup and commissioning of new DDC systems.
System Validation: Participate in point-to-point verification, database setup, and programming operations to ensure proper sequencing.
Integration & Networking: Setup and troubleshoot MS/TP, Ethernet, and IP networks, including 3rd party integrations (BACnet, MODBUS, LON).
Reporting: Use FieldWire for construction management to track mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and site deficiencies.
Technical Support: Provide workstation configuration and end-user training for customers.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in HVAC/Mechanical systems and at least 3 years in DDC/Building Automation commissioning.
Technical Skills: Proficient in reading electrical/mechanical drawings and troubleshooting AC/DC circuits. Must be highly computer literate.
Travel Readiness: Willing and able to travel 80% of the time (primarily during the week).
Certification: Niagara AX or N4 certification is highly preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
