We are actively seeking an experienced Application Engineer/Programmer to join a growing BAS firm supporting projects throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, tight-knit team with a strong reputation in the building automation sector.
This position will take ownership of building automation programming, design, system architecture, and commissioning support. Ideal for someone who enjoys both field and office work and is ready to lead and innovate within a collaborative team environment.
Position Details:
- Title: Application Engineer/Programmer
- Location: Pasadena, MD (Territory: MD, DC, VA)
- Schedule: Typically 40 hours/week
- Travel: Local only (1–2 hours from office)
- Status: Full-Time | Overtime Eligible
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in BAS roles such as Controls Technician or Application Engineer
- Familiar with product lines: Tridium, JCI Metasys, JCI Facility Explorer, Honeywell, Trane Tracer
- Ability to program graphical interfaces using Tridium front ends
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control sequences
- Proficient in developing Sequence of Operations
- Skilled in job site walkthroughs and customer needs analysis
- Excellent communication with clients, contractors, and project teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage BAS system architecture and programming
- Develop and modify custom graphical interfaces and control logic
- Coordinate with installers for equipment setup and commissioning
- Lead job walks and prepare technical design documents
- Ensure system commissioning through point-to-point checks
- Support troubleshooting and system optimization post-install
