A leading mechanical and controls contractor is hiring for a Sr. BAS Programmer to support Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects throughout Southern California. This hybrid role splits time between remote programming and field work across Orange County, Los Angeles, and the Inland Empire. The company has multiple locations and delivers large-scale retrofit, service, and design-build work across enterprise sectors.
Position Details:
- Title: Sr. BAS Programmer
- Location: SoCal Metro – OC, LA, IE
- Work Schedule: 50% Field / 50% Remote (subject to project needs)
- Status: Full-Time | Overtime Eligible
- Union Status: Open to Union (Local 250) or Non-Union
- Openings: Mid-Level and Senior-Level Positions Available
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with DDC programming (block or script-based)
- Ability to configure and commission BAS controllers
- Comfortable developing software applications from templates or from scratch
- Proficient in BAS protocol integration: BACnet, LON, Modbus, TCP/IP
- Familiar with rewriting control sequences based on engineering specs
- Skilled in hardware setup and field troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills to manage subcontractors and installers
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy BAS programming for retrofit and new-build projects
- Upload and configure databases for project-specific controls systems
- Commission BAS controllers and verify operation of HVAC systems
- Ensure integration across protocols and third-party systems
- Manage subcontractors performing field installation work
