Controls Specialist / Programmer – Houston, TX – $85,000–$115,000 + Bonus

About the Opportunity:

A Tier-1 Technology and Integration firm is seeking a skilled Controls Specialist / BAS Programmer with project management capabilities to support enterprise-level Building Automation System (BAS) projects across the Houston metro. This role includes both hands-on programming responsibilities and elements of project coordination.

Position Details:

• Title: Controls Specialist / Programmer (Project Management Hybrid)
• Location: Houston, TX
• Status: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Create BAS applications based on schematics and standard operating procedures
• Write and modify sequences of operation
• Develop and upload BAS databases
• Program systems using either Script/Line or Function Block/Graphical formats
• Integrate third-party protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LON
• Configure and implement various control product lines
• Collaborate with Project Managers and engineering teams
• Remotely connect to customer sites via VPN for updates and troubleshooting
• Create alarms and trends for system monitoring
• Assist in field commissioning, equipment startup, and project close-out
• Provide technical support to Control Technicians as needed

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced in BAS programming (script or block-based)
• Preferred: Tridium Niagara software experience
• Background in HVAC/controls integration and technical coordination

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $85,000–$115,000 (DOE)
