BAS Controls Technician – Austin, TX – $30–$45/hr + Benefits – Company Vehicle – Building Automation & HVAC Controls
About the Opportunity:
An established HVAC controls contractor is seeking a skilled BAS Controls Technician to join its growing team in the Greater Austin area. This position is ideal for a technician with hands-on experience in building automation systems, HVAC control programming, and project-based service delivery across healthcare, lab, commercial, and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform controls programming, start-up, and commissioning of HVAC systems
- Ensure timely and professional on-site project execution
- Support the controls and mechanical service division to resolve field issues
- Conduct project reviews, closeouts, and provide weekly status updates
- Monitor monthly job costs and projections
- Prepare accurate documentation including submittals, O&M manuals, and test reports
- Attend weekly production meetings
- Coordinate subcontractors and assist the site superintendent as needed
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and company policies
- Maintain excellent communication to resolve technical challenges and meet deadlines
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC controls installation and maintenance
- Niagara AX or N4 Certification (required)
- Experience programming BACnet systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with Distech, Phoenix Controls, Aircuity, and Flow Controls systems
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay: $30.00 – $45.00/hr (Depending on Experience)
