A leading full-service HVAC and building automation provider is seeking an experienced
BAS Controls Technician to support commercial projects throughout the greater Houston, TX area.
This role focuses on installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning of DDC/BAS systems for a wide range of facilities.

About the Opportunity:
The BAS Controls Technician will work as part of a team responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of DDC building automation systems.
This position requires strong technical abilities in BAS controls as well as clear communication with customers, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, start up, and commission DDC/BAS control systems for commercial HVAC applications
- Troubleshoot and repair building automation and control system issues
- Perform point-to-point checkout, functional testing, and system commissioning
- Install and test sensors, controllers, actuators, and related field devices
- Write and modify BAS programs using pre-packaged libraries and, when needed, from scratch
- Pull wire and bend/install conduit as part of system installation
- Work closely with mechanical and controls installation teams on equipment start-up and termination
- Tune and adjust existing BAS programs to improve system performance
- Communicate effectively with building owners, end users, general contractors, and internal staff
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to quality standards
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience as a BAS Controls Technician or in a similar controls-focused role
- Strong background in troubleshooting BAS/DDC systems
- Hands-on experience installing and testing building automation systems
- Solid understanding of commissioning protocols and point-to-point checkouts
- Experience writing, editing, and loading BAS programs
- Ability to pull wire and bend conduit in the field
- Comfortable working on active construction and retrofit job sites
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Preferred Technical Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Tridium–based systems
- Exposure to or experience with Distech and/or Siemens controls platforms
- Background in commercial HVAC controls for offices, healthcare, education, or industrial facilities
