What is an Instrumentation Tech?
SUMMARY: Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating instrumentation and control systems used in the cottonseed receiving, delinting, oil extraction and refining process. This role ensures optimal plant performance, product quality, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They work with SCADA, PLCs, and control systems. Key skills include reading technical drawings, using diagnostic tools, and adhering to strict safety protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pneumatic, electronic, and hydraulic instruments.
• Install, maintain, repair and calibrate instrumentation including flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, level instruments, valves, and analyzers.
• Diagnose malfunctions in control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA) and repair or replace defective components and install new equipment based on technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and calibration data.
• Install new instrumentation systems and assist with system design or improvements.
• Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Adhere to safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE, machine guarding, and hazardous area requirements.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, hearing protectors, etc. is required in designated areas.
