BAS Software Engineer (Programming & Integration Focus) – Detroit, MI – Building Automation Opportunity

Are you a detail-oriented BAS professional with strong programming and integration experience? This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and growing building automation integrator serving the East Michigan region. The team is seeking a BAS Software Engineer to help lead the programming and commissioning of advanced BAS solutions across a range of commercial and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop custom BAS applications and control sequences from scratch or using prebuilt libraries
- Create, test, and troubleshoot control system databases and programs (primarily Tridium/Niagara-based)
- Conduct point-to-point checkouts and commissioning of building automation systems
- Ensure accurate and complete programming aligned with project design specs and drawings
- Collaborate with Project Engineers and technicians to ensure efficient project execution
- Support the install/start-up process including equipment integration and functional testing
- Manage software documentation and complete close-out requirements
- Work with BACnet and other common BAS protocols to support integration and communication
Preferred Experience:
- 3–7+ years of BAS software engineering or controls programming experience
- Experience with Tridium/Niagara required; familiarity with Honeywell, Alerton, Johnson Controls, or Trend is a plus
- Strong knowledge of point-to-point testing, graphics creation, and system commissioning
- Proven experience with programming HVAC systems (AHUs, VAVs, Boilers, etc.)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
