Controls Service Specialist – Tri-Cities Area, WA – $34–$56/hr. + Company Vehicle + 100% Paid Benefits

About the Opportunity:

A highly respected mechanical contractor is seeking a skilled Controls Service Specialist to join its building automation group based in the Tri-Cities area of Eastern Washington. This position involves service and commissioning of BAS systems—primarily in Data Centers and critical facilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced with Tridium Niagara and Distech platforms and able to travel to client sites in the Tri-Cities and Northeastern Oregon.

Position Details:

• Title: Controls Service Specialist
• Location: Based in Richland/Kennewick, WA – Territory includes Umatilla, Hermiston, and Boardman (OR)
• Status: Full-Time | Field-Based | Limited On-Call

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in a Controls Service Specialist or BAS Technician role
• Strong technical background in building automation and energy management systems
• Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara and Distech systems
• Proficient in programming BAS applications from scratch and using libraries
• Experience performing point-to-point checkout and startup of BAS systems
• Capable of configuring graphical user interfaces and conducting functional testing
• Comfortable performing service, maintenance, and retrofits on existing systems
• Willing to travel regularly to client sites in Eastern WA and Northeastern OR
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, start up, and commission BAS systems for data centers and critical environments
• Write and test programs that match complex sequences of operation
• Perform repairs and modifications on existing building automation systems
• Ensure proper system performance through testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to support system operation and service needs

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $34.00–$56.00/hr. (Based on experience)
