About the Opportunity:

A stable and well-established Building Automation company is hiring a BAS Design Engineer to support their growing team in San Jose, CA. This role is ideal for mid-level to senior-level professionals with strong design skills in HVAC/BAS systems, and who are seeking an office-based engineering position with minimal fieldwork (10–15% job walks or site visits).

Position Details:

• Title: BAS Design Engineer
• Location: San Jose, CA
• Travel: 10–15% (primarily for job walks and occasional company events)
• Compensation: $85,000 – $140,000 (DOE, Mid to Sr. Level)
• Status: Full-Time | Office-Based

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop network architecture, wiring schematics, and control panel layouts for DDC systems
• Create floor plan graphics and distributed network architecture designs
• Write and revise Sequences of Operations (SOPs)
• Design and redline controls layouts using AutoCAD or MS Visio
• Review and track submittals and generate RFIs
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Support integration via BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols
• Optional: Familiarity with Tridium Niagara (N4, AX, R2) is a plus

Ideal Candidate:

• Mid or Senior-level BAS Controls Engineer with 3+ years of design experience
• Proficient with building automation system layouts and network design
• Strong technical skills in graphics generation, wiring schematics, and system architecture
• Detail-oriented and able to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders
