We’re seeking a skilled BAS Controls Technician to join a high-performing mechanical contractor based in Los Angeles, CA. This field-based role involves diagnostics, programming, system commissioning, and hands-on oversight of control systems and subcontractor coordination. The ideal candidate is technically sharp, team-oriented, and ready to lead project success from controls startup to closeout.
Position Details:
- Title: BAS Controls Technician
- Location: Los Angeles, CA
- Hourly Pay: $30.00–$65.00/hr. (DOE)
- Status: Full-Time | Field-Based | Project-Driven Travel
Ideal Candidate:
- 2+ years of experience in automation controls or BAS roles
- Experience with major controls platforms such as Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, Andover, Schneider, Trane, or similar
- Journeyman Electrician or mechanical trade certifications are a plus
- Strong technical background in troubleshooting, commissioning, and controls logic
- Self-directed, proactive, and collaborative in a team environment
- Must pass background check and drug screen
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, modify, and repair Building Automation Systems (BAS) controls
- Conduct commissioning tasks and point-to-point checkouts
- Support controls installation, equipment startups, and programming terminations
- Develop, adjust, and update BAS programs to meet operational needs
- Perform remote and on-site testing for proper system functionality
- Ensure compliance with client software standards and security updates
- Work collaboratively with owners, contractors, and cross-functional teams
- Act as a lead technician or foreman on controls-related self-performed work
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $30.00–$65.00/hr. (DOE)
