Sr. Technical Controls Project Manager – Northern Indiana & Western Michigan – Building Automation & Smart Building Systems – Up to $120,000 + Bonus + Company Vehicle

A leading smart building and building automation solutions provider is seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Controls Project Manager to oversee controls projects across Northern Indiana and Western Michigan. This role manages all phases of controls projects, ensuring technical accuracy, on-time delivery, client satisfaction, and successful integration of advanced building automation technologies.

• Location: South Bend, IN (Territory includes Northern Indiana & Western Michigan)

About the Role:

This position is responsible for managing complex building automation and controls projects from design through commissioning. You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, installation coordination, technical troubleshooting, and client communication. A strong background in Tridium Niagara is required, along with hands-on BAS experience and excellent project leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage building controls projects through full lifecycle
• Develop schedules, budgets, and project plans; monitor costs and performance
• Interface directly with clients to manage expectations and resolve issues
• Troubleshoot and support BAS systems throughout installation and commissioning
• Write, modify, and optimize controls sequences and programming logic
• Coordinate procurement and cost estimates for materials and services
• Ensure work complies with project specs, safety standards, and industry regulations
• Conduct jobsite visits, inspections, and quality reviews
• Support technicians with startup, equipment termination, and point-to-point testing
• Communicate RFIs, change orders, and project updates to stakeholders
• Must have Tridium Niagara experience

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience as a Sr. Controls Project Manager, BAS Project Manager, or Technical Project Lead
• Strong BAS troubleshooting skills and knowledge of system architecture
• Hands-on experience with controls programming and rewriting sequences
• Understanding of commissioning protocols and control system checkouts
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate clearly with clients and internal teams
• Familiarity with Tridium, Johnson, Trane, Honeywell, Carrier, Vykon, or Distech platforms is a plus
