The Role
We are seeking a Security Systems Technician to lead and assist in the installation of high-end physical security solutions across North Dakota. In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment of enterprise-level video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems. You will work with cutting-edge technology including industry-leading cloud-based and integrated security platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Device Installation: Install and mount IP cameras, card readers, electric strikes, mag-locks, motion sensors, and security panels.
Cabling & Termination: Pull and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat6, composite security wire) and ensure clean, labeled head-end room builds.
System Programming: Assist in the basic configuration of NVRs, cloud-based video management software (VMS), and access control databases.
Service & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair hardware and connectivity issues for existing security infrastructures.
Site Coordination: Conduct site walks and interface with clients to ensure device placement meets security objectives and aesthetic standards.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in security system installation (Access Control & CCTV) is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with power tools, multi-meters, and cable testing equipment. Understanding of networking basics (IP addresses, PoE) is a plus.
Aptitude: A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to "clean" installations that represent the company's high standards.
Licensure: A valid driver's license is required. Current North Dakota Power Limited Technician (PLT) license or specialized manufacturer certifications are highly preferred.
