BAS Controls Technician – Bay Area (San Francisco to San Jose) – $40–$75/hour + Full Benefits + Company Vehicle

About the Opportunity:

A large and reputable mechanical and energy solutions company is hiring skilled BAS Controls Technicians to support commercial projects across the Bay Area. This field role focuses on service, troubleshooting, and programming of advanced Building Automation Systems (BAS) for a variety of facilities.

Position Details:

• Title: BAS Controls Technician
• Location: San Francisco–San Jose metro area
• Compensation: $40.00 – $75.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Status: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot BAS/DDC control systems in commercial environments
• Program and commission control sequences for HVAC and energy systems
• Engage directly with clients, providing technical support and field expertise
• Contribute to internal service and retrofit discussions on complex BAS issues
• Assist with trend log analysis, alarm diagnostics, and system optimization
• Work independently and collaboratively on scheduled field assignments

Ideal Candidate:

• Mid to senior-level technician with well-rounded BAS controls experience
• Familiar with multiple controls product lines (Tridium/Niagara preferred)
• Comfortable working on both troubleshooting and programming
• Knowledge of commissioning protocols and database creation
• Customer-facing, team-oriented, and technically curious

Tech Environment:

• Tridium Niagara 4/AX – server-based architecture (no JACEs)
• Linux builds (RedHat licensed), VPN and networking stack knowledge a plus
• Exposure to Raspberry Pi tinkering, Cisco, and Juniper platforms
• Server and Layer 2 VPN-level infrastructure used for data handling
