Controls Project Manager – Detroit Metro – $80,000–$130,000 + Bonus

A leading Building Automation contractor in Southeast Michigan is seeking an experienced Controls Project Manager to oversee and drive successful BAS projects from design through execution. This role offers autonomy, field leadership, and visibility with top commercial and institutional clients in the region. Ideal for professionals with a strong BAS background who enjoy both planning and hands-on project management.

Position Details:

• Title: Controls Project Manager
• Location: Detroit Metro Area (Clinton Township HQ)
• Territory: Detroit to Tri-County Area (occasional Lansing coverage)
• Status: Full-Time

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of project management experience in Building Automation or BAS Controls
• Strong knowledge of BAS architecture and systems (ALC, Distech, Johnson, Tridium)
• Comfortable managing job sites, coordinating with field techs, subs, and vendors
• Experienced with financial forecasting, budgeting, and contract review
• Skilled at change order management and documentation (RFIs, closeout reports, etc.)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute multiple BAS projects simultaneously
• Oversee scheduling, materials procurement, and field team coordination
• Ensure project scope, timeline, and quality standards are met
• Maintain field presence and ensure smooth job site operations
• Manage change orders, RFIs, and closeout documents
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and preconstruction teams

• Salary: $80,000 – $130,000 DOE
